A report provides the following information on pregnancy-related and pregnancy-associated deaths from Year 2020 deaths and a compilation of 2017 to 2020 death data where appropriate: descriptions of maternal deaths in Tennessee and the demographic characteristics of women who died while pregnant or within one year of pregnancy; summaries of causes of death and contributing factors; and identifies specific opportunities for prevention of maternal mortality and promotion of women’s health.
